This collection of 19 films was  recorded from 1st and 2nd years people from Colasite Abbain in Adamstown, Co. Wexford.These stories, many ancient in their origins, combined with contemporary references and the storyteller's own character, highlight the incredibly rich oral history which still exists in County Wexford to this day.

This collection is derived from various collections which were recorded by Michael in counties Wexford, Offaly and Mayo between 2005 and 2008. This collection was compiled in August 2014 for a screening in Catalyst Arts, Belfast. Since this was produced, a three minute version has also been compiled.

This is a short collection was recorded with young traveller girls from Taghmon, Co. Wexford in 2009 and 2010.  The title ‘Never pick a go-go off the ground’ is a contemporary variant of the traditional superstition relating to finding a comb and never picking it up as it may have belonged to the banshee.

The recordings were produced for Trans-Art Cavan and funded by The International Fund for Ireland, The Arts Council and Cavan County Council. Project was launched in the Cavan Institute in Cavan town on the 4th of August 2012.

Half for You, Half for Me is a collection of superstitious beliefs from County Wexford relating to the month of May.  This compilation is derived from two larger collections entitled which were recorded in two centres for older people in Raheen and Castlebridge, County Wexford in 2006.

Eggs In The Drills is a collection of superstitious beliefs which were recorded in Cahir Day Care Centre, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, in April 2008. The work was recorded by Michael as part of the 2008 Bealtaine Festival and was officially launched in Cahir Day Care Centre on Wednesday the 8th of May 2008.

This is a collection of local stories and superstitions as told by children from The Island and Moyross areas of Limerick City. The collection was recorded by Michael and Aileen Lambert as part of Young EV+A and The Cuisle Poetry Festival in 2004 and 2005 and was launched in March 2005, in the handball alley which featured in the children’s stories.

This is a collection was recorded by Michael in Grantstown Day Care Centre, Wellingtonbridge, Co. Wexford. A compilation was produced for the launch which was officially launched by Dr. Diarmaid Ó Muirithe in the centre on the 17th of May 2005.
My Grandfather Was

My Grandfather was taken by the Fairies is the title of a six-part recording that centres on Fortune’s mother, along with six different members of his family, relating superstitious accounts concerning other family members and neighbours.  Recording took place between October 2005 and August 2006 in rural County Wexford.

This collection was recorded as part of an intergenerational project conducted with travellers women and girls from Bunclody, Co. Wexford. The collection featured a wealth of superstitions and beliefs as well as a comprehensive collection of ‘gammon’ and traditional songs from the people involved. This collection of superstitious beliefs were recorded by Michael throughout Co. Offaly in 2010. Recording took place in Tullamore, Birr, Clara, Edenderry and Ballingar. The collection was funded by an Arts Council ‘Commission Award’ and supported by Offaly County Council, Anam Beo and the HSE.
